BIOGRAPHY OF JIGORO KANO

Jigoro Kano
1860: October 28, birth of Jigoro KANO.
1869: death of his/her mother.
from 7 to 11 years, studies traditional: Chinese and penmanship.
1870: goes to Tokyo.
1872: English studies.
1874: between at the national school of the foreign languages.
1875: between at the national school Ka�sei which becomes Universit� of Tokyo in 1877.
1877: between with the faculty of literature and starts Ju-jutsu with Fukuda Hachinosuke.
1879: demonstration in front of the Grant General. Death of Fukuda. Kano receives Densho of the school (books of transmission) and continuous with Iso Masatomo.
1880: demonstration at the university with the school of Tozuka.
1881: bachelor of arts. Death of Iso Masatomo. Kano between at the school of Kito with Iikubo Tsunetoshi.
1882: Professor of economy and policy. Kano moves in Eishoji, melts a boarding house, Kodokan and Kobunkan. It finishes its studies of philosophy.
1883: Kano receives the diploma of teaching (Menkyo) of Iikubo.
1884: professor of economy at the school of agriculture.

1911: creation of a section for the training of professors de Judo in Kodokan.Il is elected president of the Japanese Sporting Federation.
1912: Kano goes with the OJ of Stockholm. Meet with Coubertin. Change of the rules of Randori and Shodan in Kodokan. Death of Yokoyama.
1915 : It creates re-examined " Kodokan ", and receives hand of king de Su�de the medal of the 7th Olympic Games.
1920:
3rd voyage in Europe, via the USA Goes in Budoka� of London with A�da. OJ Antwerp.
1926: creation of the female section in Kodokan on new bases of Judo.
1928: 4th voyage in Europe, via China and Moscow. OJ in Amsterdam. Meeting in Versailles. Demonstration in Italy with Matakatsu Mori. Geneva. Paris. London. Berlin. To the Ministry for national education will make a demonstration with Nagaoka and Mifune on Seiryoku Zen' yo-No-kata. Introduction of the practice of Bojutsu of the Katori school. Speech on the Judo with Shanga�.
1929: Kano and Yamashita show Koshiki-No-kata with the Imperial Palate (film).
1932: goes to the USA OJ and Speeches to Los Angeles.
1933: 5th voyage in Europe, via China, Moscow, Vienna. Speech and meets Feldenkrais in Paris at the technical school. Demonstration with Kotani with Joinville. Demonstration in London. Conference in Munich. Speech in Madrid.
1934: 6th voyage in Europe, via Moscow, Vienna, Athens (Speech). Goes to Paris with Nagaoka (brings films on Randori and Kata to Feldenkrais). Return by Colombo, Singapore, Hong-Kong, Shanga�.
1936: 7th voyage, via the USA OJ of Berlin. Come to see Kawaishi which it recommended to Feldenkrais for the club Free-Japanese of Jiu-jitsu, 62, street Beaubourg, Paris-III�.
1938: 8th voyage in Europe, via Cairo and Athens for the ceremony of death of Coubertin. Kano passes by Italy then Paris to see its former pupil and ambassador of Japan, Sugimura Yotaro. It died on May 4 at the time of its return to 6h30 on board Hikawa-Maru of a pneumonia, two days before arriving at Yokohama.
